Flora of North America

What you have before you is a little magical. The few centimeters between you and this rock garden actually correspond to thousands of kilometers, a journey across oceans and continents.

You may find similarities with other species more familiar to you, like the snapdragons, but what you see right in front of you is a very particular genus of plant, whose name is Penstemon. In the wild, it covers the mountain chains of North America: here you can admire its long stalks, covered with leaves; different species are present with flowers of different colors.
