You’ve probably noticed: some plants look very much alike. As if they were sisters, with the same eyes, but completely different habits, likes and dislikes. The plants in this rock garden, for example, are quite similar to those that grow in our parts, but they flower later in the season.
It’s as if they had different habits: actually, what changes is the light. At their home latitudes, these plants get a lot more of it, and this accelerates their growth, which is slower in these climes. That’s why in early summer you’ll see them still green, but in September, when all the other blooms have wilted, it will be their turn to color the garden.
